COVID-19

States With Business Operations Effect By COVID-19

What is Covid-19?

Covid-19 is a highly transmissible, flu-like virus, which is spread person-to-person via respiratory droplets (coughing, sneezing). Based on current studies, the virus may live on surfaces for anywhere from four hours (on copper), to as long as three days (on cardboard and stainless steel surfaces). The virus has particularly high mortality rates among the elderly and those with compromised immune systems.

How will Covid-19 impact my restaurant?

Covid-19 is highly transmissible, and governments around the world have taken extreme and often unprecedented measures to try to control the impact. The CDC and WHO have produced a variety of guidelines to help keep your employees and customers safe; however, many cities and states have taken the added precaution of banning the dine-in experience outright, restricting food service companies to take-out and delivery services. Companies that are highly reliant on door sales will likely see their sales evaporate for the foreseeable future. At the same time, we have actually seen a significant uptick in sales from companies capable of providing pick-up and/or delivery services to customers, accommodations that appear to be a direct result of the changing market conditions.

What steps can I take to mitigate the impact on my business?

Your number one concern should be the health of your employees and customers. Without them, there is no business. Please closely follow CDC guidelines on hygiene and sanitation to limit the risk of transmission. If you do not currently have a profitable drive-thru, delivery, or take-out service, now is a good time to invest in one. At minimum, we would suggest making sure your menu is easily accessible via mobile devices, with a clearly posted telephone number and/or a link to your online ordering system. If you do not currently have an online ordering system and desire one, please contact us.

How is the virus impacting InstantOrder?

InstantOrder is a cloud-based, online ordering system; as such, we do not anticipate any service disruptions. However, we are closely monitoring the situation and making some temporary alterations to our business model to help small businesses adjust:

1. We will be temporarily waiving all onboarding fees for restaurants. You will be charged only the standard fixed fee of $50/mo + $0.25 per order for the basic package.

2. Businesses in need are prioritized. If you have lost your capacity to do business due to the virus, please let us know your situation, and we will do our best to accommodate you. Our intent is to minimize disruptions for as many small businesses as possible.
